I bought a second-hand one for around £25 a few years ago.
It's been quite reliable in results. Takes 720P video as well as a host of still picture options.

One thing I do find is that from time to time the Video won't record, and after a few seconds can give a message saying there's a codec missing. I've found that this is easily fixed by removing the rechargeable battery, and the SD card, then carefully resinserting the SD card and popping the battery back in.
This suggests that if you've given the camera a bash, then you need to consider testing the video function before setting out so as not to be disappointed when it doesn't record.
