Samsung Camera DV151F Video Fails to Record Saying Codec Error
The Samsung DV150F is a fairly capable dual-screen pocket camera with integrated Wi-Fi .
I bought a second-hand one for around £25 a few years ago.
It's been quite reliable in results. Takes 720P video as well as a host of still picture options.

One thing I do find is that from time to time the Video won't record, and after a few seconds can give a message saying there's a codec missing. I've found that this is easily fixed by removing the rechargeable battery, and the SD card, then carefully resinserting the SD card and popping the battery back in.
This suggests that if you've given the camera a bash, then you need to consider testing the video function before setting out so as not to be disappointed when it doesn't record.

PC Monitor Switches off After Updating to Windows 11 - Resolved Issue

My PC monitor was switching off intermittently following being attached to a new (Windows 11) PC.
Intel updates were offering an upgrade to the Graphic Display.
— But actually, this made no difference!
What I did discover was that the culprit was this EON power saver plug.
I used this power saver plug on my previous PC without issue. The main plughole carries the power supply for the PC, while the two side plugholes carry the power for the speakers and monitor. The idea is that when the PC is powered off, power is automatically cut to the speaker and to the monitor. Saving you the hassle of remembering to turn them off yourself.
However, the new PC is even more power-conscious and barely uses power. I haven't tested how much, but suffice it to say that when the PC was doing not a lot but still powered up, it was tricking the EON plug to power off the two side attachments, speaker and monitor.
Remove EON Saver plug from the configuration. Case solved.
Screen Resolution Changes for No Reason: Windows 11
Well, actually, there is always a reason!
I have a iiyama B2403WS and I noticed that whereas the display screen is ordinarily filled up entirely at 1920 x 1200 pixels, sometimes it was changing to 1600 x 1200 and I was getting unfilled pixels on the left and right hand of the screen. Perhaps this happened after going into Sleep mode. WINDOWS 11.
(Perhaps there are video drivers that mess the settings up? I need to learn more about that.)
Meanwhile, this solution worked for me:
Always take a backup of the registry before you do these steps.
1) Go to Start --> Run --> Regedit and press enter
2) Click 'Edit' and click 'Find' in the Edit menu
3) Type ' DefaultSettings.XResolution ' (without quotes) and click 'Find'
4) Now double click it and change the hexadecimal value to 780 which corresponds to 1920
5) Click 'Find Next' and repeat Step 4)
6) Now do the same for ' DefaultSettings.YResolution ' (without quotes) and change the hexadecimal value to 4b0 which corresponds to 1200 and restart the machine.
Note: There may be more than one 'DefaultSettings.YResolution' and XResolution so something else to bear in mind.

Recovery Process for Facebook Hacked Accounts
HACKED ACCTS:
First off, if your name and date of birth on your account don't match your ID, you will not get your account back, so there is no need to even go through this process.
Second, if you used the same email on a new account, you have removed it from the "hacked" account and now FB has no way to contact you.
1. Check the original email for any messages from Facebook, take a screenshot of that message saying your password was changed. Secure that email account by changing the password to a strong one used nowhere else. If this email is expired, use this URL in your browser www.facebook.com/hacked
2. Take a clear photo or scan your driver's license or passport.
3. Absolutely LOG OUT OF FACEBOOK.
5. Description:
My account was hacked on Day/Time. The hackers changed my email and password. The email I received on this change had expired by the time I saw it. I cannot access my account or change my password as that goes to the hacker's email address.
Please help me regain access to my Facebook account by sending a password reset code to my email (provide your original email address). Click Browse and add the screenshot of the email and your ID, then submit.
6. Check your email account for a message from FB to reset your password; this email will be time-sensitive so check often. If you successfully change your password and are now being asked for a Code, STOP there. Take a screenshot of the pop-up that is asking for a code.
7. **Use the Security form again while logged out.
Description: My account was hacked, I did receive the email to change my password but I am now being asked for a code to continue which I can not get since the hackers have added two factors to my account. I will need another code to bypass this to fully regain access to my account. Again click Browse and add your ID and both screenshots.
Check your email account for another message from FB, again this is time-sensitive so check often.
**Repeat the above process if you don't receive one within a few hours.
Be persistent, this will take effort on your part to get this done. If you have to report the above ** multiple times do so, spaced out through the day.
Once you are back in your FB acct, it is time to clean it up..make sure to check your Settings & Privacy, Privacy, Security & Logins and remove the hacker's log-ins from the list, look under Trusted Devices remove any that are not yours, look at Two factor is it still enabled, if so disable it. Check to make sure the only email is yours, the cell number is yours.
To keep your account secure you can re-enable two-factor authentication. Choose how, print or write down the 10 codes FB provides, and add 3-5 Trusted contacts.
Jardinains Brick Breakout Game And Safe Download
JARDINAINS GAME (no adverts!) REVIEW
I've never been one for playing too many games on a PC but one game has been in my portfolio for many a year.
Recently I've had to reinstall a lot of programs, one of them being this Jardinains game. Basically, it's a knock-out-the-bricks-with-a-bat game, with the added twist of garden gnomes throwing down plant-pots at your bat which you have to avoid.
This time I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has had a complete makeover with many different styles of play, customisable bat and ball sizes, and is available for many different platforms, not just PC.
So many of the downloadable 'app' games come with irritable advertising that they're really not worth playing. Worse they'll nag you to buy 'tokens' to move on to the next level. Well, Jardinains isn't like that — it's shareware meaning it's free to download and play as long as you like and doesn't have the clutter of advertising. You can donate if you want to.
In the past, I used to run my own customised version of Jardinains with characters from the Harry Potter sequence substituting for the garden gnomes, and appropriate objects from the HP stories substituting for the Jardinains power-ups, and music scores from the HP movies substituting for the Jardinains musical scores. I haven't yet explored the possibility of doing something similar with the latest Jardinains incarnation, and anyway it wouldn't be something I could put in the public domain due to obvious copyrights.
I'd recommend this game for children aged 3 to 125. Best played on a PC, but does work well on an Android phone, the larger the screen, the better, I'd say.
